Sir Sams Ski Area has 12 runs and 6 lifts including two quad chairs for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
There's also a ski school, snowmaking and rental program.  

Winterdance Dogsled Tours: Book a half day or full day dogsledding adventure, just 15 minutes from the cottage: 705-457-5281.

Cross-country Skiing: More than 100 kilometers of groomed ski trails throughout Haliburton County, many close to the cottage.

Snowmobiling: Haliburton County Snowmobile Association maintains 600 kilometres of trails. Easy access to a major trail less than 4 kms from cottage.

Haliburton Trails & Tours Network: for information on canoeing, kayaking, cycling, hiking, mountain biking, x-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing in the area.

Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve :offers one of the most extensive trail systems in Canada for wilderness adventure activities including hiking, mountain biking and snowmobiling. The Wolf Centre is one of the largest enclosed wolf habitats in the world. Visit the Astral Observatory for stargazing on summer nights. The 'Walk in the Clouds' forest canopy tour, weekly Wolf Howls and astronomy workshops are very popular in the summer -- best to book ahead: 705 -754-2198.

Haliburton School of the Arts: offers more than 300 art courses of all kinds (painting, iron sculpture, wood sculpture, furniture making, glass blowing, photography, mosaics) to choose from in a variety of disciplines, some especially for kids. Spring, summer, fall.
